Dorothy Jean Connerley

Dorothy Jean Connerley, 92, of Oaktown, IN, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021.  She was born in Oaktown as the youngest of 10 children to the late Edward L. and Elsie Mae (Kelly) Grubaugh.  Dorothy worked in retail sales, dedicating 27 years to Woolworths and 13 years to Kmart.  She was a woman of faith and was very involved in various churches, primarily the Oaktown Christian Church and North Eastwood Christian Church.  Dorothy loved to decorate for and celebrate holidays with her family, especially Christmas.  She enjoyed traveling with her husband of 51 years, William Martin Connerley, who preceded her in death.

Dorothy was also preceded in death by her son, Charles Edward Connerley; grandson, Billy Connerley; and all of her siblings.  She is survived by her sons, Bradley (Mon T.) Connerley and Harold (Lori) Connerley; 8 grandchildren, Joann, Maryann, Brandy, Amanda, Kimberly, Nicole, Jessica, Aaron; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East from 10am-12pm with a graveside service immediately following in Washington Park East Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
