Dorothemay Robb, 107, of Plainfield, is finally home in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She passed away at home surround by family on Monday, February 11, 2019.
Dorothy was born on March 20, 1911 in Indianapolis to the late Charles Christian and Alberta (Harvey) Lawrence. She was a 1933 graduate of Butler University, earning her B.A. in French. Dorothy married Charles Robb on March 11, 1936 and they celebrated 56 years of marriage before his death. She was active in many churches over her lifetime, and enjoyed memberships with Landmark Baptist Church in Greenville, NC and Plainfield Bible Church. Dorothy was extremely strong in her faith and served as a Sunday school teacher and also hosted a children’s bible class in her home. She enjoyed sewing and quilting and was proud to be a 2x cancer survivor.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Hank (Judy) Robb; daughter-in-law, Janet Robb; 7 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Charlie; infant son, Jeffrey Alan Robb; son, Tom Robb; and great-grandson, Joshua Pepsak.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 from 10-11am at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East with funeral services immediately following. A private entombment will take place in Washington Park East Cemetery.
For over 50 years Dorothy sent out Our Daily Bread devotionals to many friends and family, along with notes of encouragement. In honor of her thoughtfulness, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Our Daily Bread Ministries: 3000 Kraft Ave. SE Grand Rapids, MI 49512, in memory of Dorothy.
