Doris Rignanese

December 5, 1933 — July 19, 2024

Indianapolis

Doris (Yonut) Rignanese of East Chicago, Indiana, departed from this world on Friday, July 19, 2024. She was born on December 5, 1933, to parents, Chiron Yonut and Helen (Lawrence) Yonut.

She is now reunited with her much-loved late husband of 49 years, Lawrence “Larry” Rignanese of Providence, Rhode Island. They were married on June 22, 1956, and through the years they both created many happy memories in their lives together, including taking many trips throughout the United States and abroad!

Throughout her life, Doris cultivated a deep love and admiration for flowers. She found solace and joy in nature's most delicate creations. Her visits to parks were not just a leisurely activity but rather a soul-nourishing experience where she could immerse herself in the splendor of the natural world.

Beyond her love for nature, Doris enveloped herself in the world of fashion with unparalleled elegance. Always impeccably dressed, she exuded a sense of sophistication that was truly unmatched. Her keen eye for style extended to her love for fine dining and the arts, where she found joy in indulging in life’s pleasures.

An avid reader with an insatiable appetite for knowledge, Doris immersed herself in literature of all kinds. Her appreciation of the arts added depth to her character and enriched her life with creativity and inspiration.

Doris is survived by her two beloved daughters, Sandra (Mark) Sands and Nancy (Steve) Bates. She also leaves behind her five adored grandchildren, Brian (Vivian) Bates, Megan (Jon) Ortman, Kevin Bates, Calvin Bates, and Phoebe Bates; and one great-grandson, Russell Ortman.

She will rest in peace with her beloved Larry at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis, Indiana.

As we mourn the loss of Doris, let us also celebrate the life she lived—a life filled with blossoms of joy, threads of sophistication, and chapters of endless curiosity. May her memory continue to bloom like the flowers she so adored, eternally vibrant and everlasting in our hearts.
