Doris Louise Markins Simmons

85, of Indianapolis, passed away on February 25, 2019.  She was a graduate of Ben Davis High School.  She was retired from Kmart and DFAS.  She also had been a district coordinator for TOPS.  She loved to listen to the Van-Dells and had been a fan club president.  She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years, Harvey E. Simmons.  Her son, Stephen Montgomery and brother, James Markins also preceded her in death.  She is survived by her children, Regina (Cliff) Moore, Dennis (Kim) Montgomery, Jamie (Duane) Higgs, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Simmons and Todd (Mary) Simmons; sister, Peggy (Pete) Rettig; ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild.  Services will be Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 1 pm with visitation from 11 am at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park Cemetery.  Entombment will follow at Floral Park Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
