Doris Gleitz

Doris Jean (Mathes) Gleitz, 91, Indianapolis, passed away on June 6, 2022. She was born May 14, 1931, in Corydon, IN to Helen Mathes and Clem Mathes. She graduated from Corydon High School in 1948. Doris wed Kenneth Ray Gleitz on June 12, 1948, in Corydon.

Her longest term of employment reached more than 30 years as a school cafeteria cook at Fulton Jr. High School in Wayne Township. She worked previously on the production line at Stark & Wetzel.

She was a long-time member of Lynhurst Baptist Church and volunteered with their church camp, youth group, food pantry, and as a deaconess.

She was predeceased by her parents Clem and Helen Mathes, husband Kenneth Ray Gleitz, brother Robert Mathes, and infant grandson Michael Anthony Gleitz. She is survived by her son Dale Alan (Bonnie) Gleitz of Fort Worth, TX, and grandsons Stephen Daniel (Brittany) Gleitz of North Richland Hills, TX and Brandon Tyler Gleitz of Fort Worth, TX.

Visitation will be 4 – 7 p.m. Friday, June 10 and 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 11 at Flanner & Buchanan of Speedway, 2950 N. High School Road with the funeral at noon, Saturday June 11.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Lynhurst Baptist Church of Indianapolis.
