Doris Eveolyn Wood Norman
93, of Indianapolis, passed away March 10, 2020. She was born on July 8, 1926 in Oldfield, Missouri as the daughter of Charles Grove and Gussie Pearl Grove.
After graduating high school and meeting her first husband, Eugene Wood, Doris moved to the Sandborn area. She went to college and graduated from IU with a Master’s Degree in Education. After the passing of Eugene, Doris met Dennis Norman and the two of them went on to be married. Doris taught 4th grade at Heather Hills Elementary School in Warren Township. In her spare time, Doris enjoyed reading romance novels, crossword puzzles, and watching Murder She Wrote. Doris was known as a loving and kind woman, a minister’s wife, and a giving soul. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
Doris is survived by her children: Susan Wood, Kathy (Jerry) Summerville, Bernard Norman, Marshall (Karen) Norman, Sarah Traphagan; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren; and brother, Richard (Bertha) Grove.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Eugene Wood, second husband, Dennis Norman; and son, Joseph Wood.
Family will be having private services at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park.
