Doris Evelyn Black, 91 of Indianapolis, passed away on April 28, 2019. She was born on October 20, 1927 in Bloomington to the late William and Ola Ritter.
Doris was a very strong, independent, and selfless woman. She enjoyed cooking for others and spending time outside in her garden. She was a devoted member of Calvary Bible Wesleyan Church for several years. Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family.
Doris was preceded in passing by her parents, three brothers, brother-in-law’s, nieces, and her granddaughter, Cheri.
She is survived by her daughters, Rosemary (John) Raymer, Dorothy Black, and Alice (Richard) Hatzell; Grandchildren, Timm (Suzzi) Broyles , Cindy Perry (Keith), and David (Gina) Broyles; seven great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Flanner Buchanan-Speedway, 2950 N. High School Rd., from 4-7PM, and on Friday, May 3, 2019 from 12 noon-1PM, with the service immediately following at 1PM. Burial will take place at West Ridge Park Cemetery.
