Doris Christine (Dawson) McClatchey

88, of Brownsburg, IN passed away peacefully on December 20, 2019. Chris was born February 4, 1931 in Hall, Indiana to the late Oval (Braynt) Dawson and Ernest Dawson who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by, her beloved husband, Paul E. McClatchey of 48 years, and one son, David Francis; her brothers, Raymond, Russell, and Allen Dawson. Chris retired as an Assistant Golf Director for the Indianapolis Parks Department. She was active with the American Legion Post #500 and The Woman’s Auxiliary. A woman of faith and the heart of the McClatchey family, Chris shaped their family by her Christian example and through her service to her community. With a real zest for life, Chris loved fishing, going to the Indy 500 and watching her grandchildren play sports. Chris and Paul spent many years after retirement snow birding back & forth to Largo Florida and traveling with their close inter circle of friends: The Mckinley’s, The Bandy’s, The Denny’s and The Allen’s. In her final years her friend, Jim Holmes kept her company as they spent many hours dining and enjoying friends, especially @ Dare Devil Brewery in Speedway. Jim proceeded her in death last July 2019.

Chris was a kind and loving woman adored by her children, Jerry (Cindy), and Paula Cecil; 5 grandchildren, Autumn Campbell (Ben), Brittany Mote (Josh), Andrew McClatchey, Nicholas Cecil (Brianna) and Alex Cecil; great grandchildren, Cole Cecil and Knox Mote. Family and Friends may visit Monday, December 30, 2019 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd West Drive.
