Doreen Van Kirk

Doreen Van Kirk, 80, Westfield, passed away June 4, 2017. She was born June 7, 1936, in London, England, the daughter of the late Edward John Harris-Thorne and Elsie May Harris-Thorne. She married David G. Van Kirk, who preceded her in passing in 2003.

Doreen was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She was a fantastic cook and loved by everyone she met. The picture is of David and Doreen’s first date in London, England in 1953, we know she is happy to be back in his loving arms in heaven.

She is survived by four children, Patricia Van Kirk, David Van Kirk, Gordon (Erin Carter) Van Kirk, Jeffrey (Vania) Van Kirk, a grandchild that her sons think of as a brother and they thought of as a son, Erik (Kami) Van Kirk; seven grandchildren, Jonah, Victoria-Isabel, Audrey, Griffin, Elle, Owen, and Kason; one brother, Michael (Fran) Thorne and two sisters, Carol and Trixie Harris-Thorne.
