Donna grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana and attended Shortridge High School, where she was involved in many extracurricular activities. While there, she also met the love of her life, Tom. She went on to attend Purdue University where she received a degree in Education. While at Purdue, she joined Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, an organization she continued to stay very active in for many years. She also later went on to receive a Master of Arts degree from Purdue.
Donna and Tom went on to have 3 children with whom they traveled the world. Living in both Germany and Australia, with lots of trips in between, Donna gained a love of travel and continued to do so as long as she could.
She was an avid tennis player for a good portion of her active life, a sport that brought her lifelong friendships. She was extremely involved in her community and church activities and found great joy in helping others. When people are asked what they most remember about her, it’s her smile that would light up a room.
Of her many roles, her most cherished was that of being a devoted mother and grandmother.
Donna could always be found in her craft room, and there wasn’t a grandchild that didn’t have multiple homemade/embroidered outfits, crafts at the ready for any visit, and lots of hugs waiting for them.
She and her devoted husband Tom were the truest of love stories. 60 years of marriage, a wonderful family and amazing adventures together.
