Donna Mae Smith

Donna Mae Smith, 87, of Indianapolis, passed away at her home on Sunday, November 27, 2016. She was born in Indianapolis on July 4, 1929 to the late Zay and Ollie (Hardie) McClain. Donna graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in 1947 and worked for Indiana Bell as an Operator. After raising her 2 daughters, she got a job at Indiana Mills and retired from there. Donna was a member of Northeast Church of Christ and then Franklin Road Church of Christ. She enjoyed family gatherings, traveling, and watching the Pacers. Surviving to cherish her memory are her twin daughters, Karen (Mike) Skomp of Greenfield and Sharon (John) Skomp of Indianapolis; grandchildren, John (Jordan), Anna (Damon), Roger, Daniel and Maria; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Elizabeth and John. Donna was preceded in death by her parents; and her loving husband of 60 years, Donald Smith. Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 12noon at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.
