Donna English

Donna English, 84, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully October 28^th, 2022. She was born November 28^th, 1937, in Indianapolis to parents Delbert and Gladys (Warren) Blaker.

Donna grew up in Indy and graduated from Howe High School.

One day, while riding the bus in Indy, Donna met the love of her life, Alan English. They shared over 60 wonderful years together, and raised a large, loving family. Alan passed away April 21^st, 2017.

Donna’s faith was very sacred to her. She was a proud member of Little Flower Catholic Church and enjoyed attending Mass at other Indianapolis parishes as well.

A very selfless, hard worker, Donna worked many places throughout her life: Indiana Bell, Junior Achievement, American Cancer Society, Holy Spirit at Geist, and more.

Donna was a compassionate, strong woman, the true matriarch for her family. She was always very involved in her children’s lives and activities and continued that commitment when she earned her titles “Mamaw” and “Gigi” from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Donna enjoyed hosting the Notre Dame games during the football season, and she was hard to beat at a game of Euchre. She enjoyed taking drives in the country, making day trips to Brown County, and meeting family and friends for lunch. She was very proud of her beautiful garden of flowers. To relax, she enjoyed reading. Above all, Donna was devoted wife, mother, grandmother “Mamaw”, great-grandmother “Gigi”, sister, aunt, and friend.

She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her children: Kim (the Late Marty) Miggenburg, Karen Lux, Mark (Tom Linker) English, David English, Jeff (Trish) English, and Kristy (Richie) Hardister; 24 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; siblings Dick Blaker and Della Arnold; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alan; and her son, Christopher Michael English.

Visitation for Donna will be Friday November 4^th, at Little Flower Catholic Church from 9am-11am. Her funeral Mass will begin at 11am. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
