Indianapolis, Indiana – Donald Crawford Selby, Jr., 92, went to his peace after being comforted by family and friends on February 7, 2025.

Don was born on September 19, 1932, to parents Donald Crawford & Irene James Selby in Clarksdale, Mississippi. He spent many years as an owner/operator of a Marathon station, back when a gas station would have their own tow trucks. After selling the station, he worked as a mechanic for several years before he took up long haul trucking. He spent over 30 years as a trucker, even taking the love of his life, Frances with him on several occasions.

Work was a passion for Don, and he finally retired last year at the age of 91. When he wasn’t working though, you could find him taking care of his garden, doing a crossword puzzle, or best of all watching a NASCAR event.

In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by his wife Frances, and his brothers Ralph Selby and Robert Selby.

Don is survived by his children, Ralph Lelend Selby (Norma), Carla Burkett, and Jan Anderson (Mike); 9 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park (9350 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229) on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 1 pm – 3 pm with funeral services taking place at 3 pm. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery.
