Donald R. Leis

Donald R. Leis, 88, died January 22, 2019.  Don worked for 34 years at Indiana Bell, retiring from Ameritech in 1982.  He was a member of Telephone Pioneers and Mt. Olive United Methodist Church.  Don was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Ardath Leis, his beloved In-Laws, Edward and Susie Poole and his son, Kurt (Charlotte) Leis.  He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Betty Lou Poole Leis and children, Greg (Marcia) Leis, Susan (Joe) Atwell and Dwayne (Laura) Leis.  Don had 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  Visitation is Sunday, January 27, from 4-8 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan – Speedway.   Funeral Services are Monday, January 29 at 10 a.m., also at the funeral home with an additional hour of visitation beforehand. Burial will directly follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Olive United Methodist Church – Heaven’s Cupboard.
