Mr. Donald Merele Charboneau, son of late Clement Charboneau and Mabel Taylor Charboneau, was born on August 26, 1938 in Crookston, Minnesota.  He was the second born of 4 children. He was a machinist at Allison Transmission in Speedway, IN for 29 years and retired in 2006. He loved old movies, volunteering for the church recycling program, and repairing small appliances.

He was married in 1958 to Lois Darlene Livingston.  They brought 13 beautiful children into the world, Donald (Ann), David (Michelle), Douglas (Joy), Daniel (Stephanie), Melissa (Richard), Darrin (LeeAnne), Dean (Amy), Debra (Shane), Maria, Dale (Pam), Denise (Matthew), DeAnne (David), and Joseph (Courtney).  He was blessed with 34 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Donald was an active member of John Knox Presbyterian Church.  Due to his outgoing nature, he made friends everywhere he regularly went, from grocery stores to church.  He will forever remain in the hearts of the lives he touched.

He quietly left this life and went to the gates of heaven on Monday, September 9, 2019.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother Paul Charboneau, daughter Maria, son Darrin, and grandson Kyle.

His beautiful, joy-filled life will forever be cherished by those left behind: 11 children, 33 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, sisters Shirley Ann Charboneau and Annette Charboneau, and half-brothers Fredrick Rose and Warren Rose, along with nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.

Services will be at John Knox Presbyterian Church on Monday, September 16th.  Visitation is from 9:00-11:00am and the service will be at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the donor’s favorite charity or the John Knox Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
