Donald Leroy Napier, 86, dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, neighbor and friend passed away on August 22, 2020.
He was the oldest of 12; born on November 19, 1933 to Robert and Ruby Napier in Dayton, Ohio. He moved to Indianapolis and was a long-time resident of Indy’s westside. He dedicated 50 years to his family’s business, Max Haas, Inc. Well known in his local community, he will be remembered for always being ready and willing to help others. An avid sports fan, he raced cars in his youth at the 16th Street Speedway where he developed a life-long love of racing. He was a big fan of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Kitley Speedrome, Colts and Pacers. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Don was preceded in passing by his wife, Janice (Smith) Napier. He is survived by his five children Debbie Kayler, Rick Napier (Sherrell), Jackie Stegemoller, Angie Christie (Randy), Tricia Koon (Craig), and eleven grandchildren Chris Kayler (Carrie), Jake Kayler, Aaron Williams, Eric Napier (Jenny), Jennifer Garcia, Travis Stegemoller (Jennifer), Danyelle Christie, Kaci Christie, Courtney Ivey, Jake Koon, and Mackenzie Koon; 16 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Visitation will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46222 on Monday, August 31, 2020 from 10am to 2pm with Funeral Services to immediately follow. Don will be laid to rest in Floral Park Cemetery.
