Donald L. Hargraves

Donald “Don” Hargraves, 85, of Indianapolis, passed away April 22^nd, 2022. He was born in Indianapolis August 6^th, 1936, to parents Henry and Matilda Hargraves.

Don worked for Ally Groceries for over 22 years before retiring.

Don was a strong, generous man with a wonderful sense of humor. His magnetic, friendly personality made an impact on every person he met. Don lived for his family. He was a devoted family man and had a special relationship with each of his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and beyond. In his free time, Don loved fishing. He enjoyed watching just about any sport on TV, and he was always ready to beat you at a game of euchre or poker.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his children Donald Spears, Robert Spears (Laurie), Angela Parker (Chuck), and Donna (Anthony) Hargraves; bonus daughters Jackie and Kathy; grandchildren Crista, Magan, Olajuwon, Brandi, Sierra, Mary, Kayla, Karly, Michael, Brandon, Joe, Clinton, Steven, Jason, Bobby, Bree, Billy, Jacob, and Dillon; bonus grandchildren Richie, Ann and Elizabeth: great grandchildren Olajuwon, Kyrie, Kayden, Alex, Mazie, Mason, Maddox, Bobby Jr., Bryleigh, Lilly, Landon, Cameron, Hudson, Katrina; two bonus great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, great and great, great nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his 14 siblings, great-granddaughter Anna Joy, and his canine companions Lassie and Gator.

Visitation for Don will be at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East, Thursday April 28th from 11am to 2pm. His funeral will begin at 2pm. Don will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery, near family.
