Donald Fredric Elbert, 91, of Indianapolis, died January 10, 2021. He was born April 8, 1929 to the Late Walter and Ruth Elbert.
He was a lifetime and active member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
He graduated from Howe High School and Butler University and did graduate work at Purdue and Indiana Central. He was active in both Butler and church choirs and a long-time member of the Indianapolis Maennerachor. He was the Corporate Planner at Naval Avionics Facility retiring in 1989 after 38 years. He served 2 years during the Korean War in the Navy aboard the USS Wren (DD568).
He is survived by his son David A.; his daughter, Felicia Crowel (Chris); and seven grandchildren: Jake, Griffen, Roen, and Marley Elbert and Emily, Wyatt, and Ruth Crowel.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Virginia (Jenny) Elbert.
