Donald Eugene Dearinger,

92, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away February 15, 2023. He was born in St. Paul, Indiana on February 9, 1931.  He was a telegraph operator for the United States Navy during the Korean War. He worked for the railroad after the Navy. Don was a retired union electrician. He was active with the VFW and AMVETS. He served as Post Commander and also  State Commander of AMVETS. Don was the 2011 Silver Helmet AMVET of the year recipient.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Waylan and Mildred Dearinger, and his brother, Melvin (Ada Lou) Dearinger.  He is survived by wife, Rosalee; children, Don (Chris), Tammy, Todd (Gayla), Charles, and Cheryl; grandchildren, Zac, Nicole, Luke, Brogan, Josh, Julianna, Brooke, Tacia, Trevor, Corie, and Kristin.  He is also survived by six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be Tuesday, February 21, 2023, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, with funeral services at 1:00 pm at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park.  Following the service, entombment will take place at Floral Park Cemetery.
