Donald L. Charles Sr.

Donald Lee Charles Sr, 90, passed away on February 12,2024. He was born on September 9, 1933, in West Virgina to Henry D. and Ruby R. Charles. Donald graduated from Belfry High School in Belfry, KY in 1951. In high school, Donald met the love of his life, Edith F. Wilson. After graduating High School, Edith and Donald married on May 15, 1953. Over the next few years, Don and Edith had 3 children – Marsha Kaye, Donald “Lee” Jr. and Joseph (Joe) Leslie.

They celebrated their 70^th wedding anniversary on May 15, 2023.

Donald is survived by his daughter, Marsha (Paul) Huber; his grandchildren, Melissa Rees, Dustin (Amber) Charles, David (Allyson) Charles, Matthew Charles, and Sarah Charles; his great grandchildren, Aaron Arkeneau, Andre Arkeneau, Mirenne Arkeneau, Luke Adams, Levi Arkeneau, Taylor Charles, Cadyn Charles, Gavin Charles, Eli Charles, and Jack Vasquez.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Edith, and 2 sons, Lee and Joe.

A private entombment will take place in Washington Park East Cemetery.
