Donald Anthony Sartino

Donald Anthony Sartino, 69 of Carmel, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, November 13, 2019.  Don was born February 26, 1950 in Rockford, IL to Sam and Angelina Sartino. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Marian University.

Don was the President and CEO of Don Sartino and Co, a matchmaker of fine foods and services. He also spent time teaching and mentoring young entrepreneurs at Purdue University. Even more importantly, Don was an amazing husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was quite the athlete. If you asked him, Don would say he was the quarter back and wide receiver at the same time; throwing the football to himself to score a touchdown. He was an avid golfer and he loved to watch his children and grandchildren compete in sports. 

Don had an infectious personality. He had this gift where he could jokingly insult the most important person in a room and somehow become best friends with them seconds later. He will forever be missed by every life he touched during his time on earth. 

Family and friends are invited to gather from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, November 20 at Flanner Buchanan-Carmel.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 pm (eulogy to begin at 12:30) Thursday, November 21 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

Don is survived by his wife of over 26 years, Cindie; children, Josh Kuklak, Stephanie Southern, Dominic (Kelly) Sartino, Jennifer (Taki) Karras, Kimberly Sartino, Luke (Catherine) Sartino, Tootsie and Nico; grandchildren, Jordan Villa, Kelsee Gadberry, Austin Kuklak, Grace Troyer, Sofia, Vince and Leo Sartino, Parker, Brady and Ava Whiteside; great grandchildren, Mya and Drake Gadberry; sister, Joanne Corirossi.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shannon Whiteside and brother, Chappie Sartino.
