Don Lambert

Don Lambert,

83, passed away on March 31, 2024. He was born on December 2, 1940, in Indianapolis to Harold and Margaret (Horrell) Lambert.

Don was a 1959 graduate of Clayton High School, and Greer Technical Institute. 

He was a member of the Air Force Reserves, and a licensed private pilot, belonging to AOPA.

In 1963 he started Lambert Excavating Construction Company, which is still in operation.

In 1973 he built and was owner of the Southview Outdoor Theater.

Later, the Avon Recreation Center was built and enjoyed by many for 15 years.

When Don wasn’t working, he enjoyed time with family traveling, antique cars, NASCAR racing, and walking his German Shephard, “Greta”.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Margaret Lambert, and brother Ed Lambert.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy (Barnaby) Lambert; his son, Gary Lambert; his daughter, Kelly (Lambert) Gilliam; and grandchildren, Amanda, Alex, and Aiden Gilliam.

A celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements by Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park.
