Don Edward Matthews

Don Edward Matthews, 93, of Indianapolis, passed away on October 21, 2019.

Don was born on May 20, 1926 in Beech Grove, Indiana to the late Paul and Marie Matthews. He honorably served his country in the United State Navy during WWII and retired from RCA. Don and his late wife Betty spent their winters in St. Petersburg, Florida. He enjoyed spending all his time outside working in the yard and staying busy. He was a devoted and loving family man, and his family was his number one priority.

He leaves behind his daughters, Diana Smith (Kenny) and Carol Stephens (Mike); grandchildren, Brian Smith (April), Erica Henderson (Michael), Amber Worden (Greg), Brandy Mason (Travis), Kourtney Allen, and Karli Raynor; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; and siblings, Joanne Miller and Danny Matthews (Jan). He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Matthews; daughter, Susan Kutche; and 3 siblings, Margie, Bob and Tim Matthews.

Friends and family are invited to gather from 10:00am-2:00pm on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park East, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00pm. He will be laid to rest at Washington Park East.
