Dolly Kaye Green - Sydow

Dolly Kaye Green-Sydow passed away on October 30, 2022 in Indianapolis, Indiana.  She was born October 22, 1948 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky to James Monroe Green and Edith Lenore (Walling) Green.  The family moved to Wabash, Indiana where Dolly grew up with her four siblings.  She graduated from Wabash High School in 1966 and attended Northwestern University.  She completed her Bachelor’s, Master’s and MBA at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.  She went on to obtain her Nurse Practitioner license at IU as well.  She worked as an RN and Hospital Administrator at Wishard Hospital as part of the IU Med system.  While still working for the IU Med system, she worked as an OBGYN/Family Nurse Practitioner.  She finished her medical career with Planned Parenthood until her retirement in 2014.  She was a world-class traveler and was able to travel to every continent except Antarctica.  Last year she had a trip planned for Antarctica but had to cancel due to a medical issue.  She also visited every state in the United States.  She enjoyed her travels with her Mom, her two sisters, and her husband Lee.  Dolly and Lee cruised the Caribbean and Alaska many times.  Dolly loved her family.  She and Lee shared a wonderful life together for 43 years.  Together they helped raise a wonderful son, Doug.  She also loved her ten grandchildren along with her eleven nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.  Dolly was the fun aunt.  All her nieces and nephews loved to visit.  She was also surrounded by many treasured friends.  She was proceeded in death by her parents, one sister (Edie), and two nephews (Evan and Andy).  She is survived by her loving husband Lee, her son Doug and his wife Bonnie, grandchildren Caleb and wife Tara, Luke and wife Tiffany, Daniel and wife Kami, Micah, Abby, Hope, Faith, Samuel, Lydia and Joshua.  Also, brothers Jim Green and Carl Green, sister Lolieta, and many nieces and nephews.  Dolly will be missed as a beautiful soul by many people.
