Dolly Alice Linville

Dolly Alice Linville (Jones), 79, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on February 27, 2020. She was born on November 11, 1940 to the late Max and Cecil Ganel Jones in Scottsville, Kentucky.

Dolly loved her family most of all, and she especially loved being a “Nana” to her 26 grandchildren. She absolutely adored taking care of everyone. Dolly always hosted holidays and cooked decadent feasts for all who attended. Her love of doing this is a prime example of her selflessness. Dolly was famous for her banana pudding, her biscuits and gravy, and her cooked cabbage. Few have been lucky enough to carry on her perfect recipes. Dolly enjoyed looking at and taking pictures with antique cars over the years. She absolutely loved gardening all kinds of flowers and plants. She had an amazing green thumb and could grow anything. Dolly was a dedicated employee for RCA for 10 years. She was also a member of One Way Christian Church. Dolly was one of a kind, and she will be missed sorely by all the lives she has touched.

Dolly is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Katherine Mansfield; granddaughters, Ginger Adams and Estrella Wise; daughter in laws, Mariea Linville and Joyce Linville; and sister in law, Peggy Jones.

Dolly is survived by her children, Diane Wise, Joann Huerta, Gayla Aguilar, Fay Winely, Jerry Linville, Orville Linville, and Billy Linville; her siblings, Lizzie Disman, Bobby Jones, Willie Jones, Roy Jones, Marvin Jones, and Dovie Moore; her 26  grandchildren; her 38 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 9, 2020 from 4-8PM at Flanner Buchanan—Floral Park, 425 North Holt Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46222. A funeral service will be held the following day, Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at 11AM at the funeral home. Dolly will be laid to rest in Floral Park Cemetery.
