Dixie Lee (Miley) Boles
73, Greenfield, passed away November 26, 2016. Dixie was born in Vincennes, IN on December 23, 1942 to the late Howard Earl Miley, Sr. and Mabel Edith (Snider) Goforth. During her career, Dixie worked as a bank teller and also managed a Christian book store. Dixie was a member of Amity United Methodist Church and was very active with the Emmaus Walk. Dixie was a fighter, battling many health struggles throughout the years, always resilient, never complaining or feeling sorry for herself. She adored her family and friends and cherished spending time with each of them. She enjoyed attending Southern Gospel concerts, reading, traveling – especially to Vincennes to visit with family there, and watching Christian movies.
Dixie is survived by her husband, Lawrence Boles; children: Howard E. Boles (Diane Lill), John Boles and Angela Madden (Gary); five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her siblings, Judith Miley Brown and Howard Earl Miley, Jr.; her sister-at-heart, Carol Winely; as well as many other extended family members and friends.
Friends may call from 4pm until 8pm on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 and again from 10am until 11am, Wednesday, November 30th at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East, where funeral services will be held at 11am on Wednesday. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.
