Dirk Stahr Ewers

Dirk Stahr Ewers, 56, passed away March 2, 2023.

He was born in Bloomington, Indiana, on March 13, 1966, to Joseph and Margaret Campbell Ewers.

Dirk graduated from IU with degrees in Public Affairs and Elementary Education. He was a diehard IU fan, loved Euchre tournaments, and enjoyed watching his kids play sports. He was also an Eagle Scout and a member of Kappa Delta Rho fraternity. Dirk was a youth baseball league coach, Cub Master, and enjoyed traveling with his friends.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 30 years, Ganhan Ewers; their children, Emma Kaye Ewers, Evan Knight Ewers, and Aidan Grant Ewers; siblings, Scott Joseph Ewers (Debby) and Shawn Bourke (Walter); In-Laws, Sheila Stults (Cliff) and Cynthia Overmyer; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and father-in-law, Michael Overmyer.

Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park, 9350 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his name to the donor’s charity of choice.
