Dillan David Dick

Dillan David Dick (Born Gail Mary Dick), of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the age of 47. Dillan was born in Indianapolis on July 6, 1971 to Earl and Mary (Gilliland) Dick.
Dillan was a feisty, fun-loving, and energetic guy who loved his family and loved serving his Country. He was a runner, a Martial Artist – 1st Brown Belt in Shorei Goju Ryu, an Oakland Raiders fan since 1978, and a LEGO connoisseur, but first and foremost, he was a soldier. He joined the Army in 2004, at the age of 33. He served active duty during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2006-2007 and continued to work for the military until his passing. He fully believed in the Army Warrior Ethos:
“I will always place the mission first, I will never accept defeat, I will never quit, and I will never leave a fallen comrade.”
Dillan was also a member of the Circle of Janus and loved attending sci-fi/fantasy/gaming conventions – InConJunction, Starbase Indy, and Who’s Yer Con. Dillan also loved going to singing karaoke. His favorite places to sing were at Eddy’s on Ft. Ben with Andy Guerdan and Music Box Karaoke, both located in Indianapolis, IN.
In January of 2014, Dillan drove to Iowa to marry his girlfriend, and love of his life, Anjala. With this union, they combined their biological and their heart family together to make one magical family full of love, warmth, and support for one another.
Baby Deadpool is no longer with us in body but has left a legacy behind that has touched so many hearts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mary Dick; Grandmothers, Edna Mae Gilliland and Marie Bryant, Aunts – Edna Mae Gilliland, Barbara Allen; and Uncle – Irvin (Sonny) Allen.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Anjala Dick; Heart Mother – Judith Ann Eudaly; Step-mother – Carolyn Dick; brother, Paul Dick; Sister-in-law Marcie Dreyer (Roy Dreyer), Nieces and Nephews – Angel Dick (Collin Chambers), Sylvia Malkemus (Christopher D.H. Malkemus), Connor Dick, James Dreyer, Carson Dreyer, Amber Dreyer, and Xavier Dreyer, Annastasia Malkemus; Cousins – Jeff Gilliland (Dawn Gilliland), Greg Gilliland, Beverly Reagan (Robert Reagan), Nikki Gilliland, Krystal Johnson (Ryan Johnson) Daniell Hook, Nathaniel Gilliland (Jovan Gilliland) Courtney Gilliland, Sarah Gilliland-Lee (Joshua Lee), James Allen (Big Jim), James Allen Jr. (Little Jim), Constance Allen, Cassidy Allen, Caitlyn Allen, Tina Allen, Madison Reuter, Justice Reuter, Alexis Briggs, Jeremiah Briggs, Keegan Gilliland, Layla Cornelius, Austin Johnson, Nevaeh Hook, Syanna Hook, Joshua Reagan, Olivia Gilliland, Landon Gilliland, Micah Gilliland, and Desmon McQuillan.
In addition to Dillan’s biological family, Dillan is also leaving behind his heart family: Sibs from a Different Crib – Ricky Lile, Michael O’Donnell, Amy Page, Kat Robertson (Ray McNutt), Rhiannon Head, Reed Hartman, Tristienne Gryfe, Chrystal Anders (Stan Anders), Christopher Canary, Crystal Wolf; Heart-children – Katt McConnell, Riley McConnell (Kelly Jayne Anderson), Annie Buss, Jes Carrico, Stephen Luckett (Sierra Luckett), Samuel Luckett (Carman Luckett), Gunyalee Ruell (David Ruell), Kayla Roan, and Alex Henby; Heart-Nieces and Grandchildren – Malee Ruell, Jadzia Dawn Page, Lilith Eckles.
Dillan requested that people attend his funeral as they see fit – in uniforms, costumes, with their plushies, etc. Please come as you are and as he loved you.
