Diana Lynn (Rominger) Simpson

Diana Lynn (Rominger) Simpson died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 18th, 2022 at home. She was born April 19, 1947 in Indianapolis to Richard Warren, Sr. and Betty Joyce (Homer) Rominger.

Diana graduated from Garland High School in Garland, Texas, Class of 1965. Following graduation, she moved to Indianapolis.  After meeting, while both working at the U.S. Post Office in downtown Indianapolis, she married Lewis Simpson and they settled in Indianapolis. They were to celebrate 55 years of marriage in February 2022. She volunteered at her children’s elementary schools, Delaware Trails, Grandview & Fox Hill after children moved on in school. She was a generous woman who enjoyed her coffee with her friends. She was a frequent reader of westerns & romances, and historical romances. Additionally, as an avid gardener, she created many gardens on their property and volunteered often at Holliday Park.

In addition to her parents, Diana was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard Warren Rominger, Jr. and David Leroy Rominger. Surviving, in addition to her husband, Lewis Simpson, are her daughter, Sophia (Simpson) Schwedland, her husband, Stephen, and their children, Andrew and Allison, of Arvada, Colorado; her son, Samuel Simpson and his children, Lilyana and Roman, of Fishers, Indiana; sisters, Victoria Kay Tabbert and her husband, Skip, and Jocelyn Denise Rominger Ewing of Garland, Texas; brothers, Paul Eugene Rominger and his wife, Jan, of Farmersville, Texas and Glenn Scott Rominger of Garland, Texas; and many cousins, nieces and nephews in and around the country, including Indianapolis, Texas, California, and the Carolinas.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 from 10am-12pm at Flanner Buchanan – Broad Ripple, 1305 Broad Ripple Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46220, where a Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow, beginning at 12pm.  Diana’s favorite color was red so feel free to honor her by wearing what you see fit.

Burial will follow services at Washington Park North Cemetery, 2702 Kessler Blvd. West Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46228.

Those who wish to remember Diana in a special gift/giving way may send live plants (NO CUT FLOWERS PLEASE), or donations in her memory to the Holliday Park Foundation, 6363 Spring Mill Road, Indianapolis, IN 46260.
