Derrick Allen Janney

Derrick Allen Janney, 23, was born on April 8, 1999. He gained his angel wings on January 19, 2023.

As a child, Derrick was so sweet and kind. He loved playing outside, playing football, talking in class at school, and getting on his sisters’ nerves. Derrick attended Ben Davis High School and received his GED. Throughout grade school and high school Derrick met so many great friends and their bond matured into a brotherhood.

Derrick worked for Kohls Distribution Center, and he enjoyed going to the gym, playing basketball with friends, gaming, and buying and trading stocks. Derrick had the biggest heart, was so much fun to be around, always good for a laugh, loved his nieces and nephews, and was just an all-around genuine person.

He leaves behind his mom, Angi Chris; stepdad, Mark Chris; father, Tim Janney; sisters, Ashley Janney and Chelsey (Shawn) Davis; stepbrothers, Zach (Monica) Chris and Andrew (Savana) Chris; nieces and nephews, Kyleigh, Kaleb, Berek, Kaisyn, Baylee, Avilynn, Brock, and Luna.

Memorial Gathering will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Floral Park on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 1:30pm to 4:00pm immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at 4:00pm.
