Dennis Lee "Denny" Wright

October 12, 1942 — January 3, 2021

Mooresville, IN

Dennis Lee “Denny” Wright, 78 of Mooresville, IN passed away January 3, 2021 surrounded by the family that he could not have been more proud of. He was born in Akron, Ohio to the late Bernard Francis and Mildred Marie (Knapp) Wright. Denny sold industrial burners for 43 years before retiring in 2020. He also served proudly in the National Guard. Denny was dearly loved by many and will be truly missed by all who knew him. From epic parties with friends and family in Ohio, to his brief portrayal of Rocky in Indiana, everybody remembers the time they spent with him.

Of all the people he touched, his most proud achievement was marrying the love of his life, Fina Wright. When they met 44 years ago, he loved her while she rolled her eyes and laughed with him while standing beside him during his heyday. He loves her as much today while she lovingly and patiently supported him during their last days together.

When he and Fina pioneered a move to Carmel, Indiana in 1986, they could not have known that 34 years later, he would have grown a family that would include 8 grandchildren.

He is exceptionally proud of his children:

Crystal, his baby, found her desire to teach and help others was taught and inspired by Dad’s compassion and huge heart. She opens her home and life to any and everyone just the same as Dad always has.

JR, a taller, darker, yet nearly identical copy of Denny himself, has a willingness to give all that he has to others. JR’s attention to detail and his sense of humor mirror Dad’s own.

Jackie’s love to talk is modeled after Dad’s, and he has never willingly gone a day without talking to her. She has an outgoing personality and selfless heart that make Dad proud.

Denisse has a desire to help friends and strangers alike that takes after Dad’s. Neither has ever known a stranger. Her self-confidence and adventurous spirit are inspired by Dad’s confidence in her.

The whole family they started include: Denisse (John) Jensen, Jacklyn (Eric) Harder, Dennis (Julie) Wright, Jr., and Crystal Wright, as well as grandchildren, Alex Jensen, Isabel Jensen, Emma Harding, Hannah Harding, Karyna Harder, Denlee Wright, Sadie Wright and Darby Wright.

He was preceded to the Lord by his sister Sandy (Ray) Atkinson and is survived by his sister Susan (Ron) Cox as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
