Delores Jean "Jeannie" Dorsett

Dolores Jean “Jeannie” Dorsett, 74 of Indianapolis passed away Sunday August 25, 2024. Jeannie was born in Indianapolis to Lester M. and Virginia L Ping on March 31st, 1950.

She is survived by her sons Jack (Shelley) Dorsett and Jason (Jackie) Dorsett, Grandchildren Colin and Kendyll Dorsett, Brothers Michael (Carol) Ping, Ric (Michele) Ping and Kenneth (Brenda) Ping and sister Echo (Raymond) Veith. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, brothers Keith Ping and Charles Ping, husband Gary Dorsett, Sr. and little fur baby Shadow. 

She was employed for several years at Design Printing in downtown Indianapolis 

Jeannie loved her family immensely and is incredibly proud of her boys and the amazing men they have become. She enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers as well as racing on television. She was a very loving and compassionate woman but could be stern when it was needed. She was an animal lover and referred to the squirrels that she fed as her “friends”.

She will be truly missed by all who knew her, especially her grandchildren. 

There will be a celebration of life for Jeannie held at Wyrk Space Event Center 4910 W. 16th St. Speedway, IN 46224 Friday, September 6th, 2024 5pm – 9pm
