Do not let your hearts be troubled; You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?” John 14:1-2 NIV
Our beloved, Della “Tee” Henry-Scott, was born December 8, 1950, in Arcola, Mississippi, child of the late Floyd Henry Sr. and Gladys Henry, who shortly after her birth migrated to Gary, Indiana where she lived most of her life until she moved to Indianapolis, Indiana and then a short stay in Georgia to be closer to her grand-children. Her final move was back to Indianapolis where she departed this life on December 3, 2021.
She dedicated her career to working as a Surgical Tech at Methodist Hospital for 25 plus years, from which she retired.
She was married to her late husband Charles Scott. Affectionately known as “Granny Gran”, she gave birth to three children, two sons and a daughter for whom she worked tirelessly to provide the best life possible.
She had a very outgoing personality and some say she never met a stranger. She had a great love for socializing with people. She loved gathering with her family and friends for social events. She enjoyed caring for her beloved pets, her poodle “Cotton” and her two cockatiels. She was truly a social butterfly. While our hearts are truly saddened by her loss, we accept God’s will as we continue her legacy through precious memories.
She was preceded in death by her husband Scotty, her mom and dad Floyd Sr. and Gladys Henry and her grandson, Lance “LJ” Washington Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her three children Lance (Cynthia) Washington, Ronnie (Kendra) Kimbrough and Cicely Carson. Her loving grandchildren, Chaunice Jones, Kaelah Washington, Breiona Kimbrough, Jamesse Payton, Chantal Carroll, Dominique Owens, Kaleyah Kimbrough, Tylar Washington, Shyla Monley, three great-grandchildren, Camaury Washington, Ryan Cooper and Remedy Page. Her siblings, Floyd (Shelia) Henry Jr., Adrienne Henry, cousin Alma “Sal” Henry-Morman and dedicated aunt, Bessie Henry and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends, including Vera Belin-Cross and Dawn Shirley.
