Delbert W. Holcomb, 83 of Carmel, passed away Monday, November 21, 2016. Delbert was born December 24, 1932 in South Bend, IN to the late Harold and Muriel Holcomb. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Delbert was an entrepreneur. While in South Bend, he started United Brokers, a food brokerage business that he later moved to Indianapolis. After selling United Brokers, he started two other ventures, Creative Foods and Maxim Marketing, before retiring in 1995. He and his wife have spent the past 10 years in Englewood, FL before returning to Carmel.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on Friday, November 25, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan-Carmel.
Delbert is survived by his wife, Velma J. Holcomb; sons, Scott W. (wife, Mardy) and Toby L. (wife, Vicki) Holcomb; daughter-in-law, Chris Holcomb; grandchildren, Alaina (Holcomb) Stephens, Emily Holcomb, Nicholas Holcomb, Elise (Holcomb) King, Wesley Holcomb and Katey Holcomb; siblings, Bob Holcomb, Ann Deckard, Terry Holcomb and Andrea Kennedy; great grandchildren, Cameron, Makenzie, Maisy, Liam, Taylor, Aiden and Mia. He was preceded in passing by a son, Todd Holcomb.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers.
