Deborah W. Berry

Indianapolis, Indiana – Deborah Berry, 70, passed on Thursday, August 29, 2024. Beloved wife, mom, and grandma, she will be deeply missed by all. Debbie was born on February 28, 1954, to the late Vasile & Dorothy Sordean in Indianapolis, Indiana. 

Debbie worked for Warren Township schools in many different roles but primarily as a school bus driver, retiring in 2012. 

She adored her grandkids and spending summers at Hanover Beach. She also loved being surrounded by friends and family, shopping, and visiting her loved ones in Florida. A huge fan of the Pacers, Colts, and Fever, but most of all she loved watching her grandkids excel in their school activities.

Debbie leaves behind her husband of 51 years, Rick; her children David Berry (Stephanie), Jen Dobbins (Chris); grandchildren Lydia, Gage, Gavin, and Gabby. She also leaves two sisters, Nena Griffith, and Tena Stow (Mike); as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 2 – 4 pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229) with a celebration of life following at 4 pm with Pastor Scott Luck presiding.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to the American Cancer Society in Debbie's name.
