Dawneen Thorstad Beedy

Dawneen Thorstad Beedy passed away on October 12th, 2021. She was the third child born to Clarence and Anita Thorstad, born and raised in Madison, WI. After graduating from Madison West High School in 1969, she attended the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh and the University of Wisconsin -Whitewater. Dawn worked as a teacher before becoming a mother. She later nurtured her passion for travel by becoming a travel agent and traveling the world from Stonehenge in England, to the Pyramids in Egypt, to the Great Wall in China, as well as Europe and South America. When not traveling, Dawn loved to play Mahjong and other card games.

Dawn is preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Laureen Thorstad. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Craig Beedy, her children, Amy (Robert) Summerfield, and Matthew Beedy. A loving mother and grandmother, Dawn is also survived by her grandchildren, Grant and Cate Summerfield; and her siblings, Ron Thorstad, Diane (Steven) Price, and John (Debbi) Thorstad.

The family will greet friends and well-wishers before the service on Tuesday, October 19th, 2021 from 9:00 am-11:00 am at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road Indianapolis, IN 46250, where funeral services will be held thereafter at 11:00 am.  Burial will be directly after the service in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorials can be made in Dawn’s name to Shriners Hospital for Children or Central Indiana Coats For Kids.
