David V. Staton, 82, of Indianapolis, passed away Monday, June 17, 2019. He was born September 19, 1936 in Frankfort, Indiana to the late Cecil and Ruth (Vandervort) Staton.
David was a 1955 graduate of Kirklin High School. He also graduated from the General Motors Institute and Purdue University with a degree in engineering.
He served on the Washington Township School board from 1978 to 1980 as well as working on several other school committees.
David was a member of Crooked Creek Baptist Church and was actively involved there.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 55 years, Sue (Gunderman) Staton; son, Michael and daughter Michelle Groves; one grandson, Garrett Weddle; and his cat Lucy. Also surviving are his brother Meredith (Greenwood) and his sisters, Barbara McCarty and Martha (Ronnie) Rogers of Huntington, IN. David was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Ruth Staton and his sister Janice.
David and his family were blessed by the amazing care he received prior to his passing.
A visitation will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd. W. Drive, on Sunday, June 23, 2019 from 2 to 4pm with services beginning at 4.
