June 15, 1972 — September 23, 2024

Indianapolis

David “Dave” R. Stephenson, 52, of Indianapolis passed away on September 23, 2024. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on June 15, 1972, to his parents Richard and Linda Stephenson. Dave graduated from Warren Central High School class of 1990. He then went on to work for Chrysler—where he became a successful Pattern Maker for 18 dedicated years. Throughout his trade, he obtained an associate's degree from Ivy Tech.

If you knew Dave, you instantly fell in love with him. He was a simple man who loved his family more than anything. He was always making jokes, being a reason for people to smile. Always smiling himself, he could light up the room just by walking in. He also loved his iced tea, cooking for his family, playing pool late at night, fishing in any water he could find, Mopar, having his baby(67’ black charger), and more than anything, doing everything he could to support his son, being his biggest cheerleader. He wore many titles throughout his life—however, the title he was most proud to wear was undoubtedly “Dad.” Dave certainly left this world too soon, and he will be missed terribly by all who were lucky enough to experience his kindness.

Dave is survived by his loving son, Bobby Stephenson; his parents, Richard and Linda Stephenson; his siblings, Toni Finnigan and Paul (Jamie) Stephenson; his longtime girlfriend, Lisa Rosebrock-Thomas; his nieces and nephews, Jesse Stephenson (Stacie Kelley), Conner (Kate) Finnigan, Paige Finnigan, Justin (Kim) Stephenson, and Megan Stephenson; his half sister, Gina Sickmeyer; the mother of his beloved son, Kelley Stephenson, and his great nieces and nephews.

Dave is reunited in heaven with his brother-in-law, Mike Finnigan.

A gathering will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 11AM-1PM at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229. A memorial service will begin immediately following the visitation, starting at 1PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made towards Dave's son, Bobby, to support him during this time.
