David Scott Bolling, 59, was born in Indianapolis, IN on November 30, 1957. He was the son of Wilbur “Buddy” and Anne V. Bolling. He passed away November 13, 2017. He is survived by his daughter, Danielle Charmaine Bolling; son, David Christopher Bolling; aunt Mildred Anderson; cousins Clifton Barber, Charles Barber, Dr. Joye Barber Owens, Aaron Herbert, Kimberly Roman; and a host of extended family and friends.
He was a 1976 graduate of North Central High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Ball State University. He was employed with Rolls Royce of Indianapolis for 36 years until his retirement in 2013. He was a member of Westview Christian Church.
He enjoyed traveling, watching sports, and coaching as a national flag football coach. He was also a faithful volunteer for Unto Him Ministries, Wheeler Mission Ministries, Family Promise Ministries, the Love Thy Neighbor planning committee, the United Way ReadUP tutoring program, the North Central High School class reunion committee, and several hospice care locations. Additionally, he was a member of the Indianapolis Jaycees for many years.
David had a tremendous heart and spirit who will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor, bright and bold personality, compassion towards others, community involvement, and social activism. Despite the physical pain he endured, it was his life’s mission to help others less fortunate.
The visitation will be held on Monday, November 20th from 12 – 2 PM at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd. W. Drive. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 PM at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park North immediately following the visitation. Reverend Dr. Mary Alice Mulligan will be officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Park North Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Unto Him Ministries, a faith-based organization dedicated to helping the homeless throughout central Indiana.
