David R. Knight, 61, of Fishers, passed away on January 14, 2020.
David was born on April 11, 1958 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Earl Knight and surviving Betty Knight. He attended Ambassador College in Big Sandy Texas and in Pasadena, California. David was a talented and hard working man and served as the Vice President Policy Administration/Premium/Eligibility for International Medical Group in Indianapolis. He was a talented handyman around the house and also enjoyed working outdoors. David’s main passion in life was all about being near water. As a younger man he enjoyed sailing in California. He later enjoyed motorboats and was known for his Sunset on Geist calendar. He also loved spending time at Grand Lake in Ohio at his lake lot boating and hanging out with family and friends. He was a member of the Indianapolis Yacht Club and cherished the friendships he made there. He had fond memories of houseboat vacations with IYC friends and had fun piloting the 90 foot house boat and the Lemoncello adventures. David also enjoyed traveling with his wife to over 30 countries and across many oceans and seas. He leaves behind his wife, Vickie Knight; sons, Nicholas Knight (Stephanie) and Christopher Knight (Anastasia); mother, Betty Knight; and sister, Barb Volle (Tom.) He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Knight.
David’s monument reads: Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor, catch the tradewinds in your sails. Explore, Dream, Discover. Mark Twain
