David M. “Skip” Walters, 57 of Carmel, passed away Sunday, October 22 at his home. Skip was born September 5, 1960 in Indianapolis. He was a graduate of Indiana University and a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity.
Skip was a real estate broker, working with his wife at Shelly Walters Realty Group for the past 3 years. Prior, he was general manager at O’Brien Toyota where he worked for 30 years.
Skip was an avid golfer and enjoyed boating, especially on Sweetwater Lake, where they had a home. He helped broker many agreements with clients who are now Sweetwater residents. Known for his flashy jackets and keen fashion sense, Skip was a Seinfeld and Pulp Fiction fanatic.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Friday, October 27 at Flanner Buchanan-Carmel, where family and friends are invited to gather from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
Skip is survived by his wife, Shelly; children, Lindsey N. (husband, Jeffery J.) Mathey, Crosby D. (fiancée, Nikki D. Kline) North, Jeremy T. North, Raquel A. Walters; mother, Ann Walters; mother-in-law, Terry M. Slinker; grandchildren, Jasmine I. Wells and Locklynn R. Mathey; brother, Charles R. “Rick” (wife, Margaret B.) Walters. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles H. Walters.
