David L. Hocker

March 29, 1959 — May 2, 2022

Indianapolis, IN

David Louis Hocker, 63, of Indianapolis, passed away May 2nd, 2022. David was born on March 29th, 1959 in Indianapolis to parents Donald and Nancy Hocker.

David was graduated from North Central High School and attended Purdue University and was a proud member of Alpha Tau Omega.

David spent most of his adult life in the construction industry, selling and marketing home improvement products for various businesses throughout the eastern region of the United States. He was always known for his positive attitude and salesmanship, having the ability to sell anybody anything. When David was not busy with his sales profession, he pursued his love and passion for cooking by owning and operating his own catering business stationed out of Indianapolis and providing great food for all throughout Indiana and neighboring states.

David was a kind, fun-loving father, husband and gentleman that always had a smile on his face and with either a joke or story to tell. He loved cooking, sports and spending time with his family. If you walked by on any given day, you most likely left with a full belly and an extra plate of food to take home. If the Colts game was on, the whole neighborhood knew who was yelling at the television! Most importantly, David loved spending time with his family. He was an amazing father who loved his four boys deeply and helped develop them into the men they are today. Whether it was the countless hours at the football, baseball, soccer field or the motocross tracks, David was always there to support his kids’ passions and goals. David will forever be missed, but his funny personality and outlook on life that has impacted so many lives will continue to live on for generations to come.

David is survived by his four sons, Louis(Barbara) Hocker, Alex Hocker, Jordan(Sydney) Hocker, and Cody(Julia) Hocker; 10 grandchildren (Luna, Alice, Peyton, Hadley, Bella, Cooper, Mabel, Daniel, Willow and one on the way); brother Steve(Kathy)Hocker and sister Debra Hocker Turner; numerous nieces and nephews, and the mother of his children Sandy Hocker. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sandra Lou Hocker.

David will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery near his family.
