David L. Crew, Sr.
8/11/45-12/5/19
The Four most important Ladies in Dave’s life were FIRST his Mom, Edie.
The other three are pictured with him, having a Fun Time together on a Cruise! Left to right—Patti (1st wife), Bridgette (Daughter/Princess) and myself. We had 43 years together, married 41 and there was never a dull moment. He never lost his sense of humor and seldom complained about pain though he certainly had many reason to. I was blessed to have Dave as my husband, friend and soulmate! I know I will join him again someday (I got an URN big enough for both of us). Pam Crew
My Daddy passed away peacefully after a long battle with Parkinson’s. Even living years with this cruel ruthless disease, my Dad found the best in everything and everyone. I love seeing these same traits in my brother David.
In his early days, my Dad enjoyed a party life & fast cars – but always made time for us. He married the love of his life, Pam, when I was 7 giving me the gift of another mother.
Dad & Pam traveled quite a bit. He was fortunate to make a living doing what he loved – from selling cars to GM of a dealership. He loved to play golf, watch football (with a little betting I recall) and playing cards whether with us or the dealers in Vegas.
David & I grew up in a non-traditional divorce situation where my parents focused on their common love for us and Pam embraced this becoming a dear friend to our mom Patti. I am forever grateful for my Dad’s unconditional love. He was not a religious man yet I have no doubt he was welcomed to heaven with open arms (and maybe a ‘65 GTO) as he lived the most positive life who treated both friends and strangers with nothing but respect. I always remember how much his employees loved to be around him – from his top salesman to the lot boy. He appreciated them all.
My profile pic was from David & Heather’s wedding in 1997, just after the Parkinson’s diagnosis and before the effects were too bad. By the time Gary and I married in 2003, he struggled quite a bit but was determined to walk me down the isle and have our Daddy/Daughter dance. He accomplished both like a champ. While maybe not so smart, Dad drove from Lake Mary to Arnold Palmer hospital 8/24/05 when Garrett was born. He just didn’t want to miss it. A family man. A friend to all. And boy could he make you laugh! I love you Daddy. Always your “little princess” 💕
