David Mark Johnson, 77, passed away on May 28, 2024. He was born November 11, 1946, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Herman and Queenie M. (Lowe) Johnson. David served his country proudly in the United States Navy on the USS John F. Kennedy. David was an Electrician for over 25 years and then worked for Indy Honda. Being a man of faith, he and his wife have been faithful members of St. Ann Catholic Church since 1971. David was known for his extensive collection of Hawaiian shirts and was an extreme Indianapolis 500 race fan. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. David is survived by his loving wife, Mary K. (Ante) Johnson, his children, Kathleen (Jeff) Byrd, David (Shellie) Johnson, Christina (Marshall) Wilson, his grandchildren, Zachary Wilson, Brittanie Brown, Kaitlyn Wilson, Mackenzie "Tweety" Byrd, his great grandchildren, Kennedy and Dawson Wilson, and his brother, Walter (Mary) Johnson. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Roberta Johnson, and his brother, George Johnson. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2024, from 4:00 pm-8:00 pm at Flanner Buchanan Decatur Township with additional visitation on Monday from 9:00 am until the service time at St. Ann Catholic Church 6350 S. Mooresville Road Indianapolis, IN. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am at the church. David will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery following the mass. The family request any memorial gift be directed to St. Ann Catholic Church in memory of David.
