David I Gross
David passed from our world March 22nd. He was born in Indianapolis to the late Israel and Lillian Gross May 6, 1950. David graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1968 and proceeded to complete his journeyman electrician apprenticeship with Union Local 481. He worked at the trade with several companies retiring in 2006. He was particularly proud of the tasks the he performed on several large projects in Indianapolis as the city was developing. Among those were the Indiana National Bank Tower and the Indiana Convention Center. David was involved in competitive athletics of every nature. After High School he continued playing basketball at the club level then evolved into tennis and eventually golf. His love of golf was driven more by the social contact he maintained with several very close friends than the need to compete. David loved to reminisce of past glory days in sports and was always eager to share stories with past teammates. David had a particular fondness for Chevrolet Corvettes and was never without at least one.
David is survived by siblings Frank Mahan of Morgantown, Indiana. Gayle Kurtz (Robert) of Indianapolis. Estelle (James) Boyd of Lebanon, Indiana. And Jack Gross (Pamela) Freedom, Indiana. Dave also leaves behind eleven nieces and nephews and was a great uncle to twenty-seven great-nieces and great-nephews.
