David “Dave” Turner, 75, of Fortville, passed away peacefully on September 11th, 2022. He was born in Indianapolis, December 27th, 1946, to parents George and Lorene (Hildebrand) Turner.
On December 11th, 1970, Dave married the love of his life, Esther (Guerrieri) Turner. They shared over 52 wonderful years together.
Dave proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a dedicated member of the VFW 7119 and American Legion 0710.
He was a very hard worker. For over 30 years, he worked as a carpet installer, and was very skilled at the trade. After “retiring” from carpeting, he went on to work 20 more years as a maintenance man. There was nothing Dave could not fix.
Dave was a strong, loving man. A very talented wood worker, he liked building and tinkering with projects in his garage. He enjoyed collecting and restoring old vehicles. To relax, he loved cruising on his boat, or kicking back with a beer in his hand. Above all, Dave was devoted to his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Esther Turner; daughters Missy (Michael) Burton, and Bobbie (Ronald) Posey; grandchildren Ashley (Travis) Fife, Kody Peplinski, and Morgan Peplinski; great grandchildren Melania Peplinski, Nalia Posey, and Wraylee Fife; and his canine companion, Chance.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for Dave will be Thursday September 15th, at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East, from 4-8pm. Additional visitation will be Friday September 16th, from 10-11am. His funeral will begin at 11am. He will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery, following a committal service with military honors.
