David Allen, passed away on December 2, 2023, in Greenfield, Indiana. Dave's life was a testament to hard work, determination, and an unwavering commitment.
Born on September 1, 1945, in Ellettsville, Indiana, Dave grew up with a deep appreciation for family values. After graduating from Thomas Carr Howe High School in 1963, he embarked on a remarkable journey that would leave a mark on both his loved ones and the business community.
Dave's entrepreneurial spirit led him to become the owner of Central Indiana Tire and Retreading Inc., where he dedicated himself to providing exceptional service and quality. His vision and dedication brought both prosperity and recognition to the company. Through Dave's leadership and passion for excellence, Central Indiana Tire and Retreading became a trusted name in the industry.
Beyond his career achievements, Dave was a man who cherished his family above all else. His wife Judy stood firmly by his side throughout their journey together. Their love was an inspiring example of loyalty and commitment that inspired all who knew them. The couple shared many precious moments and built a beautiful life together.
Dave had an incredible bond with his three children; Shawn (Libby) Allen, Dawn Moran, and Jeff (Andrea) Rustman. He nurtured them with love and instilled in them values that will continue to guide them through life. He was brother to his sister, Pat Kerr (Larry). As a grandfather to Bailey, Christopher, Riley, Allen, Brandon, Casey, he reveled in the joy of family gatherings and took great pride in watching them grow into remarkable individuals. He was also a proud pet parent to many rescued dogs throughout his life.
In addition to his role as an adoring husband and father figure, Dave found solace in pursuing his hobbies. He had an insatiable passion for cars—a lifelong interest that brought him both excitement and contentment. Whether it was tinkering with engines or cruising down the open road, Dave found serenity in his automotive pursuits.
When he wanted to unwind, Dave would often retreat to his favorite fishing spots, casting his line and embracing the tranquility of nature. These peaceful moments allowed him to reflect on the beauty around him and find solace amidst life's challenges.
Dave's warm personality endeared him to everyone he encountered. His charisma was infectious, and his genuine kindness left a lasting impression on countless individuals. He possessed a rare ability to make people feel seen and valued—a testament to the depth of his character.
A celebration of Dave's remarkable life will take place 1:30 p.m. on December 6, 2023. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by his funeral service at 1:30 p.m., both held at Flanner Buchanan - Decatur Township located at 5463 Kentucky Avenue in Indianapolis, Indiana. Burial will be held immediately following the service at Greenwood Cemetery located at 620 West Main Street in Greenwood.
Dave has left an enduring legacy marked by love, integrity, and perseverance. He will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched and forever remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, esteemed business owner, and an inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs.
