David A. Fisher, 88, of North Port, Florida passed away November 18, 2017. He was born April 25, 1929 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Kenneth and Lillian Fisher.
As a resident of Indianapolis, he joined the United States Army August 13, 1946 where he spent 2 years as a Private First class, Duty Soldier III. During his time in the service, he earned the WWII Victory Medal. He is a retiree of Link Belt, where he was a tool grinder in the bearings division. Family endearingly remembers him as an avid sports lover, especially of IU athletics, as well as a man who was fond of his routines.
David is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 50 years, Norma Fisher; and son, Mark Fisher.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his children, Daniel (Barbara) Fisher, James (Marilyn) Fisher, Michael Fisher, Theresa (Steve) Kurrasch, Anita Otterman, and Lisa (Burton) Fippen; siblings, Bill Fisher, Sister Mary Ann; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; as well as his special life partner, Jeanne, who came into David’s life just when he needed her the most.
Visitation for David will be held Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 9- 10 AM at St. Ann Catholic Church, 6350 S Mooresville Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46221. A funeral mass will immediately follow visitation at 10 AM. He will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks everyone donate in David’s memory to Seeds of Hope, 1425 S. Mickley Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46241.
