Daryl Edward Deig

Daryl Deig, 84, Carmel, IN, went home to be with the Lord on December 20, 2024. He was born on June 20, 1940, in Evansville, IN, to Orville & Leona (Mesker) Deig.

Daryl graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1958 and was class president his senior year. Daryl went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management in 1963 from Purdue University. He served as a Captain Ordnance Corp in the Army from 1963-1969.

He began his career in 1963 with Whirlpool Corporation in Evansville, IN. While advancing his career with Whirlpool, he moved to Marion, OH, then to St. Joseph, MI, and back to Ohio. In 1977 he moved his family to Carmel and began as V.P. of Quality Assurance at Jenn Air Corporation.

In 1984, Daryl transitioned to an Aamco Transmission franchise owner in Indianapolis. He owned two Aamco Transmission shops until he retired in 2019.

Daryl was an avid Purdue fan & a long time standing member of the John Purdue Club. He was a season ticket holder for football & basketball for many years. He knew his Boiler history & statistics when it came to athletics.

He spent many years as an active bowler & golfer, bowling a few perfect games over the years. 

Daryl is survived by his children Danelle (Jerry) Klinker, Darren Deig; granddaughters Abigail and Madison Klinker; and sisters Fern (Mike) Montgomery, Darlene (Tom) Wolf, sister-in-law Lorene Fisher along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Dorris (Smith) Deig and nephews Greg and Steve Fisher.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at 11:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 4th, at College Park Church, 2606 W. 96th St, Indianapolis.
