Darrell Ray Gann of Indianapolis died on November 23, 2020 at the age of 73.
He was born December 21, 1946 in Monticello, Kentucky to the late Lloyd and Minnie B. Gann.
It was love at first sight when he met Martha Louise Hancock, and they would have shared 55 years of marriage this Christmas.
He worked as a machinist at Permanent Magnet. He then went to work for the Lawrence Township Schools and later the City of Lawrence.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor, kindness, and most of all how he cared for his family.
He is survived by his wife Martha Gann; daughter Michelle Gann-Pompey (McKendall); grandchildren Alexis Delaney Pompey and Shelby Nicole Pompey; great-grandchildren JaneElizabeth Louise Pompey and Elias McKendall Ray Pompey; and brothers Marion Jefferson Gann (the late Edna) and Billy Wayne Gann (Anna).
He was preceded in death by his great-grandson Jamison Pompey and his siblings Charles Gann, Bonnie Begley, Dorothy Vanise Wheeler, Willa Dean Morgan, and Mabel Charlene Wesley.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 5 from 11:30 AM to 2 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis. Funeral Services will begin at 2 PM with burial following at Washington Park East Cemetery.
